High Atlas Tour - Morocco

Looking for some stunning High Atlas scenery, beautiful off-the-beaten tracks and Berber culture? This is the tour for you! Enjoy the freedom of cruising on your Docker Apollo bike and breathe in the fresh mountain air. No driver’s licence is needed, but some experience is a must! With our guide, support vehicle and the Wikiloc tracks on a smartphone provided by us, you’re good to go. And don’t forget, after a day riding, a cool beer at the pool, relaxing in the sun in one of our carefully chosen accommodations! A total of 10 rider places on the tour.

Full Itinerary

🗓️ Day of arrival Pickup from the airport and a 30-minute transfer to our hotel 20KM outside Marrakesh, on the edge of the High Atlas. A peaceful retreat in nature. Relax by the pool or enjoy a massage at the spa… or both. Dinner and general briefing at 20.00 hrs. 🗓️ Day 1 Drargua to Demnate (132 km) Breakfast at 08.00 hrs. After loading the 4×4 with your luggage, we introduce the bikes. (Less experienced riders can book an extra prep day.) Part A (83 km): First 30 km is on-road toward Marrakesh, then we head south at Tahanout into the Atlas Mountains. Stop for mint tea in Tidli Mesfior. Part B (22 km): Steep climbs and descents in remote, scenic terrain. Lunch in Touama at a roadside restaurant. Part C (71 km): Winding country roads through the mountains. Arrive at Maison d’Hotes near Demnate around 16.00 hrs. 🗓️ Day 2 Demnate to Ouzoud (81 km) Breakfast at 08.00 hrs, depart at 09.00. Fuel stop in Demnate, then off-road. Tracks vary from wide and winding to narrow forest paths. Swim break at the Green River. Then continue to the Ouzoud waterfalls. Park bikes and hike with local guide Sam down to the basin for a swim. Lunch with a view. Optional hike further down the ravine. Watch for Barbary apes on the return. 🗓️ Day 3 Ouzoud to Zouit Ahansal (172 km) Depart at 09.00 hrs after breakfast. Coffee stop in Azilal, then head deeper into the mountains with views over Lake Bin el Ouidane. Fuel in Ouaouizerth—last station for 3 days (support vehicle carries backup). Ride along the lake, ascend to Cathedral Rock. Lunch in Imsfrane. Cross Geopark of M’Goun (UNESCO site), climbing to 1800 mtrs through pine forests. Arrive near Zouit Ahansal. Cozy mountain lodge-style hotel, no pool but a terrace and nearby kasbah. 🗓️ Day 4 Zouit Ahansal to Tabant (105 km) Ride 60 km to Tabant hotel, then 45 km round-trip to Tamernout for lunch with a local family. Part A (60 km): Smooth asphalt, two passes above 2000 mtrs (highest at 2750 mtrs), Berber villages, and incredible views. Part B (45 km): Wind through pine forests to lunch spot, overlooking river valleys. Return the same way. Hotel is in Happy Valley (Ait Bouguemez), one of Morocco’s most stunning areas. 🗓️ Day 5 Tabant to Demnate (85 km) First 17 km through the Palmeraie of Ait Bouguemez on narrow walking paths—slow going, full of village life. Then scenic asphalt roads through the mountains. Stop for mint tea under a walnut tree. Visit the natural bridge at Imi n Ifri—worth the short walk beneath the stalactites. 3 km more to return to our Swiss-run hotel near Demnate for a well-earned lunch. 🗓️ Day of goodbye Sleep in unless you have an early flight. Time to say goodbye… or start planning your next adventure. Don’t forget anything as you head to the airport or onward. Thanks for riding with us—we hope it was unforgettable!

What do you need to bring

THE ESSENTIALS - Return flights - Return transfer - Medical insurance, with repatriation (OBLIGATORY) - Returnable deposit. 200€ in cash (can be equivalent in £ , $ or dirhams) against bike damage - Pocket money for souvenirs, alcohol and soft drinks, etc. 🏍️ BIKING GEAR We consider this to be the minimum clothing required on our tours; - an open-face helmet with a long drop-down visor - a camelback-type drink system - a pair of cool sunnies - a strong cotton long sleeve safari type shirt - a strong pair of cotton cargo pants - lightweight rain gear (just in case) - soft neoprene tactical elbow and knee protectors (over the top of the clothing) - Timberland style boots with good ankle support, that lace up above the ankle (step-in shoes with elastics are not advisable) - gloves 👕 RECOMMENDED CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES - T-shirts per day - Underwear - Lightweight thermal underwear (just in case) - Socks - Pair of casual shirts for wearing at the hotels - Pair of trousers​/​jeans for wearing at the hotels - Swimwear - Small torch - Trainers​/​shoes - Shorts - Jumper or fleece - Small medical kit comprising: aspirins​/​paracetamol some form of pain killer - Anti-inflammatory pills​/​cream - Lip salve to avoid chapped lips - Plasters - Sun cream - Rehydration powders. - Energy​/​glucose tablets to chew during the days
