Full Itinerary
🗓️ Arrival Day Arrive at Ouarzazate airport and transfer 1 hour to our hotel in the lush valley of Agdz. If flying into Marrakesh, the transfer takes 5 hours. “Agdz” means “resting place” in the local language. Dinner and general briefing at 20.00 hrs. 🗓️ Day 1 – Agdz to Foum Zguid (110 km) After breakfast at 08.00 hrs, we ride into Agdz to fuel up. Once ready, we leave asphalt and take a scenic piste past villages and gold mines. Near Foum Zguid, a 5 km single track leads us into the desert. Our 4×4 may struggle to follow during this segment. The final off-road stretch winds through watermelon and henna fields. We cool off in the pool and enjoy a late lunch on arrival. 🗓️ Day 2 – Foum Zguid to Erg Chegaga (100 km) Fuel up in town and head south into the desert. First 10 km are rocky, then short sandy stretches test our balance and throttle. We stop at dry Lake Iriki and cross it toward the Jbel Bani mountains. Our bivouac is at Chez Naji on the edge of Erg Chegaga—Morocco’s largest and wildest dunes. After lunch, rest in the shade or take a quad/camel ride. Enjoy sunset views from the dunes and a night under star-filled skies around the campfire. 🗓️ Day 3 – Erg Chegaga to Ouled Driss (80 km) Ride 12 km to the Sacred Oasis of Oum Lâalag near the Algerian border. After a café break, we head to Erg Lihoudi (Jewish Dunes), crossing a deep sandy riverbed en route. We reach Ouled Driss before M’Hamid for lunch and poolside rest. You may also explore M’Hamid El Ghizlane—a historic oasis town and former caravan hub. 🗓️ Day 4 – Ouled Driss to Zagora (120 km) We follow the road north toward Zagora, refueling in Tagounit. From there, we take a 20 km off-road detour through villages along the Draa River. Next, we visit Tamegroute, famous for its ancient green pottery workshops. Afterward, a short ride takes us to our hotel in Zagora for a relaxing late lunch by the pool. 🗓️ Day 5 – Zagora to Agdz (130 km) Our final ride follows the Draa River north. The journey is on-road, so watch for locals, animals, and traffic. The Draa is Morocco’s longest river, flowing from the Atlas to the Atlantic. Thanks to the El Mansour Eddahabi dam, parts of the valley flourish with agriculture. We end where we began—at the Agdz hotel. After saying goodbye to the bikes, enjoy one last dip in the pool and a relaxed lunch. 🗓️ Day of Goodbye Sleep in or head out early. If this is goodbye—for now—thank you for riding with us! If not, maybe it’s time to plan your next tour.
